Surrounded by snow!

Another busy week has gone by, with several runners and a bit of filming being done. On Thursday we had Sirecam Europe in to get some footage of the 3 year old Mawatheeq gelding, who is heading to the Cheltenham Breeze up sales this week. He is a lovely chap to have around and we hope he sells well. 

On Friday we had two runners, Dancing Doug headed to Sedgefield for the NH flat race, he was running a good race before falling on the bend when turning in. He thankfully seems to be none the worse for his fall and has enjoyed a quiet weekend eating grass. Unfortunately Harry Beswick who was riding him didn't get away as lightly, he has suffered several broken bones and a knock to the head, fingers crossed it shouldn't be too long before he is out of hospital and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Powerstown Park had his first run under rules at Exeter for his owners The Ipsden Invincibles, he settled away nicely but it was clear from the start he was not enjoying the testing conditions, we will look for a race on better ground in the new year. On Saturday The Cannister Man went to Chepstow, he was looking fantastic and has been going very well at home, all hopes were gone when he tripped on the turn in the heavy going. I am pleased to report both horse and jockey are ok. They are definitely a few days to forget, fingers crossed that's the last of the bad luck! 

On Sunday morning we woke up to a good dump of snow on the ground, the horses all enjoyed a duvet day with plenty of hay and feed to keep them entertained! Monday morning we battled the elements to get all the horses out on the gallops, after shovelling our way out of the yard we were very appreciative of the efforts that Lambourn Gallops staff who had been out since the early hours to get the gallops open for us all to use. A big thank you for all their efforts, and

pleased to report the horses were all on their best behaviour.

With the cold snap that we are in we will monitor the tracks, but we do have a few horses who are ready to run next week.
